Supporting people in the
Borders for 30 years
Streets Ahead began life when people with learning
disabilities were being discharged from long term care.
A group of families got together to help people live independent
lives in the community and streets ahead was born!
For many years we have been supporting people with learning disabilities, but more recently, our support has extended to working with people with mental health problems and also people with dementia.
We have a very experienced Board of Trustees, who are fully committed to governing Streets Ahead to the highest level. All our Trustees are unpaid, and support us on a voluntary basis. More on our Trustees here.
We are on the personal outcomes journey and aspire to be champions of helping people get to where they want to be in life. This means committing to a person-centred approach, recognising what’s important to people.
