We support people to
lead great lives

Streets Ahead has been supporting people in the Borders
for 30 years. Over that time, we have gained a great reputation
for supporting people with learning disabilities, but word of
our excellent services has spread and we currently provide
person-centred support to a wide group of people across the
whole of the Scottish Borders.

We aspire to be leaders in outcomes-focused practice and
recognise the need to empower people, so that they can
get to where they want to be.

Our purpose

Streets Ahead (Borders) was set up to enable people with learning disabilities to be supported in their own homes. We now offer support, guidance and practical help to a range of people living in the Scottish Borders. We also offer support to their families and carers.

Our track record

For many years Streets Ahead has been considered a trustworthy provider of personalised services in the Scottish Borders.

Our vision

“Where people we support live an independent and fulfilling life in the local community”

Our values

At Streets Ahead, we believe that everyone has the right to live their life with privacy, dignity, independence and choice and to be free from harm. We also believe that we should take our responsibilities towards equality, diversity and fairness very seriously. We have developed a set of core values which we call our WE CARE values. These underpin how we translate this belief into our day-to-day approach. They set the standard for our behaviour and help us to hold each other to account on how we meet the standard.
